QS1500/SW/ECO Reflector for 1x58W 1500mm

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Reflective Surface – Specular+ 2.5 mil polyester film with specular metalized (silver) layer on front surface. Treated with an acrylic coating to protect metalized layer from oxidation / corrosion and polyester layer from UV degredation, covered with a removable premask and a pressure sensitive adhesive backing.

Tensile strength 45lbs per inch of width

Elongation at breaks: 100%

Specular Reflectivity: 95%

Diffuse Reflectivity: 2%

Total Reflectivity: 97%

Reflective life: 3% maximum loss of original reflectivity after 1000hr accelerated aging.

Base Material – 0.5mm Aluminium

The patented specular silver reflective film is laminated to a aluminium backing sheet which is then formed into a simulated parabolic shape.

  THE SOLUTION

A reflector within the light fitting is a way to make an inefficient luminaire efficient. But the reflector must be carefully designed to provide optimum performance. The white painted surface that is there for the physical construction of the luminare is not sufficient.

   WHAT WILL IT DO?

The increase in efficiency that can be achieved by fitting a purpose designed silver specular reflector to an existing light fitting, and incorporating triphosphor lamps, is such that in most cases even though the number of lamps is reduced by 50% the illumination within the space is increased.

  INSTALLATION

The reflective surface of the reflector is protected by a clear film (pre-mask). Peel the pre mask back from each end of the reflector to ‘expose’ slots. Insert clip in slot at the centre of the reflector and rotate through 90 degrees to lock into position. Repeat for each end.

Remove lamp from luminarie. After completely removing the pre-mask the reflector is clipped directly to the lamp. The existing lamp can be reused but sometimes a new quadphosphor lamp is installed. The lamp, complete with reflector, is then reinstalled in the luminmaire. When rotary type lampholders are being used the reflector should be held in position as the lamp is rotated. The patented Twist Clip makes for a quick and simple installation.

CLEANING

Reflectors should be cleaned by using a mist of 2% solution of a liquid detergent in warm water, wiped with a soft cloth or a sponge. Do not use any abrasive materials on the reflector surface.
